This questionnaire will be given to each candidate for TVI Governing
Board as they file their nomination petitions with the County Clerk.
Appointments will then be made with each who returns the completed form
for a personal interview on January 6 or 7
(in the evening at NMFEE offices).

Why are you running for the TVI
Governing Board?
What do you consider your three major
qualifications for the position?
What resources (people, funding, campaign
strategies, etc.) do you bring to the campaign?
What are the priorities and issues upon which you
would focus your energy?
If elected, what would you do to increase funding
for TVI?
If funding for TVI were to remain constant or to
decrease, how would you prioritize allocation of financial resources?
What is your experience with collective
bargaining? How would you communicate with the TVI Employees Federation?

Are you committed to the
continuation of collective bargaining?
Given that the President of TVI is compensated at
the top 5% of US community college presidents, are you committed to
proportionate and fair compensation to all staff and faculty, including a
reduction of full-time faculty workload?
What is your understanding of the policy making
authority of the Governing Board in relation to the administration?
Are you committed to open discussion of
non-personnel issues at public Governing Board meetings?
Please relate your awareness of the instructional
support staff (Tutor’s and Instructional Technicians) at TVI and their
roles in the success of all students at the Institute.
